Filippo De Pieri, “Teaching environmental history in architecture schools. An European experience”
Keynote speech delivered at Beijing’s Tsinghua School of Architecture on November 1, 2025, within China’s yearly International Symposium on Teaching and Research in World Architectural History, “Idea-Design-Object-Data: The Multidimensional Perspective of Architectural History and Theory”. Filippo De Pieri presents the experience of the environmental history courses activated in Politecnico di Torino’s architecture programs since 2021 and reflects on the implications and challenges behind the introduction of environmental humanities within architectural education.
