In this article written for the 40th Anniversary issue of “Planning Perspectives”, Filippo De Pieri reflects on the limited presence of environmental topics within the current panorama of planning history, as well as on the limited presence of planning topics within current environmental history research. The paper discusses some of the historiographical reasons behind this misalignment and offers clues for further exploration and discussion.
