Filippo De Pieri, “Planning histories and the environmental turn”, Planning Perspectives, 41, 1 (2026)
In this article written for the 40th Anniversary issue of “Planning Perspectives”, Filippo De Pieri reflects on the limited presence of environmental topics within the current panorama of planning history, as well as on the limited presence of planning topics within current environmental history research. The paper discusses some of the historiographical reasons behind this misalignment and proposes a few directions for further exploration and discussion.
